The Sunshine Coast Dance Society will be holding auditions and hosting a Master Class for the 2014 Dance Scholarships Awards.
2pm – 4pm on Saturday July 5, 2014
Venue: Coast Academy of Dance studios, Sechelt
A “free” 45-minute Master Class will be facilitated by Alison Denham.
The auditions will immediately follow the master class and applicants must attend both.
This year, the SC Dance Society is pleased to advise that two awards will be available including:
- The Lois Smith Dance Scholarship for Excellence in Ballet ~ $1000
- Sunshine Coast Dance Society Award of Dance Excellence ~ $500 (any genre)
To be eligible for the scholarship applicants must:
- Be an advanced dancer 13 years of age or older.
- Have a minimum of 3 years dance training or experience.
Participants are required to:
- Fill out the attached application.
- Provide a letter of intent or video describing how funds will be used to further their dance training.
- Attend the “free” Master Class class held at 2pm on July 5. Auditions will be adjudicated following the Master Class from 3-4pm.
- Be prepared to perform a dance solo (3 min max) that best exhibits your movement qualities (no exam pieces please).
- Mail or email the completed application form and letter of intent to Maggie Guzzi BY JUNE 30, 2014.
The successful applicants will be informed of the results July 7, 2014.
